Optimist / Sailor CYP
Andriani Georgiou (2006) is a Cypriot optimist sailor of Famagusta Nautical Club since 2013 and a member of Team sailCY. She is currently at secondary school and is an excellent student both in marks and student affairs. She has under her belt many wins with most notably the 2018 Cypriot Championship which she won the 1st place in the Cadet girls category and 2nd place in the Open Girls. Her hard work and dedication paid off in 2019 where she won the girls national championship and deservedly won her position in the National team. Andrianis’ immense passion in sailing, her hard work and dedication together with being trained by the professional coaches of sailCY aims for her to achieve high results internationally.
EMILIOS MAX BOEROS
Optimist / Sailor CYP
Emilios Max Boeros (2007) is a Cypriot optimist sailor of the Famagusta Nautical Club since 2013 and a member of the Team sailCY. He is currently a middle school student and speaks fluently Greek, English and German. For the academic year 2018-2019 he was awarded an academic excellence award by his school. Emilios also plays the clarinet and is a member of the school orchestra. Additionally, he is an ambassador for “Hope For Children” advocating for children’s rights during various events on the Island.
At the age of six, Emilios started sailing with the Famagusta Nautical Club Academy. When he was 11, Emilios climbed to the 3rd position in the Cyprus national ranking that earned him a place in the Cyprus Optimist National Team paving the way for his participation in the 2018 Optimist World Championship. He has won the Cyprus National Championship in the Cadet Boys division for 3 consecutive years and in 2019 Emilios also won the 2nd place overall in the National Championship. Other achievements include five consecutive podium positions in the first 5 Mediterranean Championship Regattas held annually in Limassol. Emilios loves sailing and under the guidance and coaching of sailCY professional coaches he aims to become an internationally acclaimed sailor.
Optimist / Sailor GER
Mic Mohr was born 22/2/2004 at Marbella, Spain and started sailing at age 6 in the Optimist Class. Mic like his brother Roko showed very early on that he had a great talent for sailing. A very focused and hard working athlete from a very young age Mic went on to achieve great results in the Optimist Class some of which are: 7th at the 2016 Europeans in Italy, 3rd at the 2017 Worlds in Thailand and 6th at the 2018 Worlds in Cyrpus!! Mic won the German Championship 2 times, he was National Chnampion in a lot of other Open Championships such as Poland, Mexico and Cyprus and has a lot of top 5 results in a lot of big international regattas. This year he will make the transition from Optimist into the Laser 4.7 and he is looking to keep up working hard as he always does to achieve even greater things in the Laser class.

Giorgos Michael (2005) is a Cypriot optimist sailor of the Famagusta Nautical Club since 2013 and a member of the Team sailCY. He is currently at secondary school and is an excellent student both in marks and student affairs. For the last two consecutive academic years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 he was awarded the first prize for academic excellence by his school. His favorite subject is Maths and he takes part constantly in the National Competitions organised by the Cyprus Mathematical Society with acclaimed results. Giorgos also plays the quitar and is a member of the school orchestra. Additionally, he has served as a member of the 257th Saint John Scouts of Limassol from 2012 – 2017, taking place in many events and charities for the poor on the Island.
At the age of ten, Giorgos won the 2015 Cyprus National Championship in the Cadet Boys division. When he was 13, Giorgos climbed to the 4th position in the Cyprus national ranking that earned him a place in the Cyprus Optimist National Team paving the way for his participation in the 2018 Optimist European Championship in Crozon, France. In 2019 Giorgos also won the 3rd place overall in the National Championship. He has also many top 5 results in the Mediterranean Championship Regattas held annually in Limassol. Giorgos is a very dedicated athlete in sailing and under the training and guidance of sailCY professional coaches he aims to achieve greater things in the years to come.
